A couple years ago, The Holy Mess 3 day meal plan (original) was featured in Woman's World magazine. The plan is based on zero point foods & great for anyone whether you are a WW member or not.

Every healthy choice matters.

We recently celebrated my husband’s birthday. In years past, I went off the rails for most any reason. It’s my birthday. It’s a family members’ birthday. It’s Christmas. It’s the Super Bowl. Candy is on sale. Burger King is advertising a new burger. 🍭 🍔
.
Now I’ve learned that every healthy choice matters. I’m more moderate. I eat one serving of cake (and save one or two more with my name on it for later days) instead of one serving at the meal and 6 more servings when everyone else goes to bed.
.
I start the day with a healthy breakfast that includes vegetables, and I eat those first. I don’t use special events as an excuse to give in or give up on all good choices.
.
How are you going to choose healthier options today (while not trying to be perfect)?
Do you have foods that call to you? Which ones?
Here are a few of mine:
*cake with massive amounts of frosting
*dark chocolate
*peanut butter
*mixed nuts
*Cookies, brownies and most any baked goods, especially homemade
I’ve learned that Satan will use my food cravings and food temptations to pull me away from God’s will. Yet God always provides a way out, just like He promises.
My job is to be prepared, armed for battle and watch for the way of escape. I call these rescue prayers “Pantry Prayers” because you need to prepare in advance for the times you will need them - at the store, at the freezer at 2:00 AM, by the TV, or like me - in the pantry with the peanut butter jar.

I’ve been maintaining a 100+ pound weight loss for almost two decades.

It’s still hard.
.
I don’t know if that encourages or discourages you, but it’s the truth. I am a truth-teller, even if that truth isn’t easy or popular.
.
Some things have gotten easier. Motivating myself to exercise is easier. Meal prep and meal planning are easier. These things are routine now.
.
Some things are the same or even harder. My smaller body needs fewer calories. I can’t “get away” with too many splurges and stay at this weight. I don’t have the motivation of seeing weight loss or getting many compliments.
.
I still want to eat junk food and fast food in excessive amounts. I still crave chocolate and peanut butter and frosting. I still wish I didn’t have food issues and could be one of those people who doesn’t think about food. (But I’m not.)
.
But is it worth it? Oooohhh yes. I wouldn’t trade life at goal. I’m endlessly more energetic and confident. I’ve helped thousands of people through my website and my experiences. God has grown me and is growing me in new ways.

Quick & easy healthy food tip: When reheating a bowl of soup, stew or chili, fill the bowl with spinach and put your soup on top. Boom! One extra cup of veggies to lower the calorie density and increase the nutrition. The spinach cooks down and blends into the flavors of the soup.

EASY veggie prep! Cubed (buy already cut) butternut squash. Pre-cut (buy already halved) Brussel sprouts. I roast these for about 45 minutes and it’s several days worth.
