1poundground beef, sausageor ground chicken or turkey breast
4ozspaghetti noodlesuncooked, white, whole wheat, or gluten free all work
24ouncesspaghetti sauce1 jar
1tspItalian seasoning
16ounceswaterabout 3/4 of the spaghetti sauce jar
1cupshredded zucchinior carrots, optional
Instructions
Click the "saute" button on Instant Pot and cook ground beef until brown, about 5-8 minutes. It does not need to fully cook through. (If using lean ground meat, you may want to add 1-2 T of water to prevent sticking.)
Turn machine off.
If needed, drain fat. (The more fat your drain, of course the healthier. A little bit of fat keeps pasta from sticking together.)
Add 1 jar of spaghetti sauce.
Add 3/4 jar full of water.
Add pasta. Do not mix, but gentle push pasta into liquid and move around a bit to prevent sticking.
Turn Instant Pot to "Manual" and set for 6 minutes. If using gluten free pasta, cook for 4 minutes.
When pot beeps, quick release and carefully remove lid.
Mix in shredded zucchini or carrot, if using, then serve.
