Colored Pencils for Bible Journaling and Adult Coloring
Any colored pencils will work in your Bible or adult coloring pages. Colored pencils are the best for blending color and there is no concern of bleed through to the other side of your page. Just take care that you don’t sharpen your pencils too much so they poke through or dent your page.
Keep in mind higher quality pencils have a smooth feel and glide more easily onto the page. Often the colors are brighter, too. However, inexpensive colored pencils do work fine, especially when you are just getting started.
When it comes to colored pencils, Prisma Colored pencils are some of the best, although also expensive. They have a soft feel and glide easily on the page.

I personally love gel pels because unless you are doing heavy coloring, the bleed through is minimal and gel pens are fun to use! Plus they are inexpensive.

When it comes to hand lettering in your Bible, I recommend Tombow markers. There is some shadowing on the other side of the page, especially depending on Bible page type, so practice first in the back or another inconspicuous place.
