I call our New York house our new (old) house because it was built in 1910, so this is a house that has seen a great deal of history. The owner before us purchased this house as a foreclosure and completely remodeled, so we are fortunate to have the best of both worlds in many ways. Our house has the character of an older home but many of the features of a newer home. Come inside for a new (old) house tour.

Here is what our house looks like now. We had a housewarming party this weekend with friends, family, and members of our church helping us feel welcome in our new home. I knew this was the perfect time to snap pictures of the house. (In other words, it will never be this clean again, so enjoy, dear friends.)

This school desk came from the Lutheran school where I went to elementary school. When they were getting rid of the desks they offered that we could purchase them so my parents bought one. I used it, then my kids used it as an art desk. Now I’m using it as a printer stand.

Our church was so generous and helped us buy all new appliances for our kitchen. Click here to read about which appliances we chose and why.
