I desire all of these.

I’ve been dealing with some tough stuff in my life over the last year, and to be honest I’m not proud of the way I’ve handled some of these situations. Our family has dealt with beyond-the-beyond parenting, challenging ministry situations, caring for aging parents, and marriage issues.

This is what happens when I’ve got the BIG STUFF going on. I’m cruising along with life and I’m okay, and then one morning I can’t get the printer to print and all hell breaks loose.

I wish I could say that with God’s help, I have prayed, studied my Scripture, and held it all together. Quite frankly, I haven’t.

I’ve been in need of a RADICAL CHANGE.

There have been a number of days I’ve gotten up, yelled at Mike for unimportant reasons, snapped at the kids throughout the morning, and then gone back to bed after I got the kids off to school. I just couldn’t face it all. Then the day continued to unravel from there.

This is not the type of life I want, or the person I want to be.

I know God has something better in mind for me.

God might not fix my life circumstances. He might change me instead.

I’ve been studying John 15, which was part of our church’s worship service last week. There are so many promises is this passage of Scripture! What I absolutely love about it is that God promises to do the work when we do the abiding. In other words, we don’t keep trying to grind it out on our own. We just need to show up.

God is so good to us. He doesn’t demand more than we are able to provide. He gifts us with blessings when we least deserve it.

I’ve been absolutely amazed at the blessings that God promises in this passage of scripture. I would love to share with you what I’ve learned.

When we commit to abide in Him over these next 7 days, I fully believe we will see reward in our lives. It will look different for each of us as the Holy Spirit does His refining and powerful work. I’m so excited to see what God has planned!

As I’ve been digging into the meaning of the John 15 text, I’ve discovered significant blessings God promises to us when we abide in Him.

We cannot rely on ourselves. We abide in God’s Word and His Love in order to see lasting life changes. The blessings flow as a result.

DON’T — Rely on You.

DO — Abide.

Each day we will explore a different RADICAL blessing.
