Here are some verses from this Bible reading plan that are worth your time to memorize.
1. John 3:16 – For God So Loved the World (The Gospel in One Verse)
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16
John 3:16 is perhaps the most famous Bible passage of all time because it clearly explains the way of salvation through Jesus in just a few simple words. For this reason, it’s been called the Gospel in One Verse.
2. Proverbs 3:5-6 – Trust in the Lord with all your heart.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
Proverbs 3:5-6
and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.

I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
Philippians 4:13
Philippians 4:13 is an excellent passage to rely on during times when you feel weak, weary, or exhausted. Some times that I’ve used this Scripture passage include during my long weight loss journey, when I was sick, and parenting children with special needs.
At The Holy Mess, a phrase we use often is, “I can do hard things.” This is not because we have the power but because God is at work within us.
4. Isaiah 40:30-31 – Even youth grows weary.
Even youths shall faint and be weary,
Isaiah 40:30-31
and young men shall fall exhausted;
but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings like eagles;

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30

For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:38-39
There is nothing in this world that can separate us from God. Even when we struggle and feel alone, He is always with us. Just remember, we are never alone.
10. Psalm 27:1 – The Lord is my light.

11. John 14:6 – I am the way, and the truth.
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

12. Psalm 46:1 – God is our refuge.
God is our refuge and strength,
Psalm 46:1

16. Hebrews 13:8 – Jesus never changes.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

17. Matthew 28:19-20 – Go and make disciples of all nations.

When you pause and look at your life, see all the big and small blessings. All of these beautiful things in life come from the Lord our God. Remember to thank him for all the fantastic blessings he gives you daily, such as a roof over your head, a job to care for your family, etc.
19. Matthew 22:37-39 – You shall love the Lord your God.
And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
Matthew 22:37-39
You will find that we are to love God with all we have in our hearts. As well as loving those around us. It is a big reminder that God loves each of us the same. Learning to love your neighbor is more challenging for some, but you will experience freedom when you let go of judging.
20. Micah 6:8 – He has told you.
He has told you, O man, what is good;
Micah 6:8
and what does the Lord require of you
but to do justice, and to love kindness,
and to walk humbly with your God?
This Bible verse reminds us that we need to walk in love and kindness and remain humble in all moments of our lives. He tells us how to live if we can obey.
21. 2 Corinthians 5:17 – He is a new creation.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
2 Corinthians 5:17
Let go and let God is a phrase you may here Christians say. It is similar to this Scripture passage. Let go of pain, frustration, past hurts, or even habits. You become new when you renew and step into a healthy Christ-like life.
22. Colossians 3:23 – Whatever you do, work heartily.
Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men,
Colossians 3:23
Remember, all we do in this world should be for the Lord, not for man. This world is meant for an in-between space until we live eternally in heaven. Don’t get wrapped up in worldly things and risk sin.
23. Philippians 4: 6-7 – Do not be anxious.
do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4: 6-7
This scripture reminds us not to be anxious about struggles, from sickness to financial issues. Give the worries to the Lord to handle. No matter the outcome, if we trust the Lord, we know it will all be good. We always win.
24. Galatians 5: 22-23 – The fruit of the Spirit.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
Galatians 5: 22-23
I always try to walk in these fruits of the spirits in life. Always walk with love and be slow to anger or react in all situations. You will gain power when you do.
25. Ephesians 4:29 – Let no corrupt talk come out of your mouth.
Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.
Ephesians 4:29
Our tongue holds so much power in the words we speak. Guard your words because they have so much power. Do not say hateful or vindictive things to others or about others, and instead use your words to build other people up with encouragement.
26. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 – Love is patient.
Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Most of us hear this scripture often, especially at weddings, but this was actually my confirmation verse. This passage of Scripture is an incredible look at what it means to embody this type of love in your relationships.
27. Romans 12:1-2 – A living sacrifice.
I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Romans 12:1-2
Remember that this world has a lot of Satan within it. We live faith-based lives and do not give in to worldly things. Renew your mind, care for your body, and walk in love.
28. 1 Peter 5:7 – Cast your anxieties on him.
casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.
1 Peter 5:7
Once again, you read to give your anxiety or struggles to the Lord. The Bible repeatedly states that He WILL carry the burdens if we let go of trying to figure things out on our own. When you try to handle it, He can’t take it on.
29. Luke 2:7- She gave birth to her son.
And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn
Luke 2:7
Here, you see they wrapped him in cloths, and he was in a manger, as there was no place in the inn. We don’t have to come from a rich life; simplicity is okay, as you see here. No matter who we are or how we walk in our lives, we all matter the same.
30. 1 Peter 1:6–7 – In this, rejoice.
In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 1:6–7
If you allow the challenges of life to shape and enable you to grow stronger in your walk with the Lord, that is true faith. It is easy to trust when things are easy, but trusting when you are in a storm takes another type of faith. Each time you trust, you become stronger.
