Do You Struggle with Anxiety?
All of us struggle with anxiety and stress. For every person living on earth there are life situations outside of our control that lead to worry and fear.
If you are in the middle of an especially stressful situation such as financial burdens, troubled relationships, or health issues, you know that it can become easy to let worry take over. This can lead to physical symptoms, insomnia, and more.
For many people anxiety manifests as an ongoing physical condition that requires medical treatment. If this is your current situation, don’t hesitant to reach out for medical help. There’s no shame in this and no reason not to seek the help that is available.
For a number of years I lived with depression and anxiety. Therapy, medication, and spiritual growth helped me greatly during these tough times. I had times of high anxiety and experienced panic attacks. I even created this helpful resource called The Hope Toolbox for people who struggle with depression and anxiety.
I’ve gone through much healing since then and I’m happy to say that while of course life is still stressful, I no longer live with daily depression and panic. It wasn’t easy, but let me offer you encouragement that there is much hope!

What Does God Say About Stress and Anxiety?
The Bible is clear that we are not to worry because God is in charge of the universe. It’s fair to even go so far as to say that worry is a sin.
We know this in our minds, but getting our hearts and bodies to cooperate can be a totally different situation.
This is an area where most of us struggle, yet the more you can learn to rely on God’s promises of hope, the more you will be able to calm nagging fears, worries, and regret.
Did you know that Satan, the enemy, wants to keep you wrapped up in anxiety and worry? When you are constantly worried, you are less able to live in the freedom God has for you. It’s harder to pursue God’s purpose for your life.
Combat the enemy’s lies by speaking God’s truth. God’s word is the most powerful tool you have to fight back against anxiety.
I encourage you to memorize a few of these Bible verses to speak to yourself, speak out loud, or write out when anxiety hits.

I will trust and not be afraid.

he has become my salvation.

for you alone, Lord,
make me dwell in safety.

Don’t rush through these Bible verses for worry, but savor their truth and worship Christ as you read his words of love and comfort.
Also consider using positive Christian affirmations to combat worry, anxiety, and depression.
Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the LORD!
Psalm 27:14
Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
Matthew 6:31-33
Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they.
Matthew 6:25-26
What Does the Bible Say About Peace?
Peace is something everyone wants, yet few seem to find. What is peace? It can be defined as “tranquility, harmony, or security.” Depending on the situation, it could mean “prosperity” or “well-being.”
Various forms of the word peace are found 429 times in the King James Version of the Bible. There are different types of peace, including false peace, inner peace, peace with God, and peace with man. – Got Questions
What Does the Bible Say About Worry?
The first and most obvious thing that the Bible says about worry is that it is NOT something God desires His children to do or to suffer.
However, the subject is a bit more nuanced than it at first appears. Although God does not want us to worry, that does not mean He wants us to be irresponsible or uncaring. The Biblical idea of worry carries the connotation of an annoying, distracting, disturbing state of being that keeps us from doing what God calls us to do. There is work to be done and the cause of Christ should captivate our hearts and engage the full capacities of minds and bodies.
There are specific things that our Lord commands us not to worry about, and other things which the Lord commands us to seek (Matthew 6:25–34). The seeking of such things as He commands is the antidote to our dis-ease of worry. – Compelling Truth
