The Air Fryer Oven is a counter top appliance that circulates hot air around food like a deep fryer uses hot oil to circulate around food to cook it thoroughly.
An air fryer oven can pretty much do it all. And by all, we mean fry, grill, bake, and roast.
Air Fryers have the ability to:
- Cook multiple dishes at once
- Cut back on fatty oils
- Prepare a meal within minutes
Why You Want an Air Fryer Oven
If you’ve been wondering if an air fryer is right for you, here’s why you want an air fryer oven.
The biggest benefit of an air fryer oven is that you can “fry” your favorite foods with hardly any oil.
Here are additional benefits:
- Low-fat meals.
- Easy clean up.
- Uses hot-air circulation, the air fryer cooks your ingredients from all angles- with no oil needed.
- This ultimately produces healthier foods than most fryers and spares you from that unwanted aroma of fried foods in your home.
The Air Fryer Oven uses way less oil to give you crispy food without the loads of added fat. The Air Fryer Oven uses hot air in combination with high-speed air circulation and a top grill to surround food with heated air to cook all of your favorite fried foods quickly and evenly.
Most Air Fryers come with a recipe book, fryer basket and some come with extra accessories like a rotisserie rack, toaster rack, skewer rack and extra fryer baskets. Accessories can also be purchased separately. All this depends on the type of air fryer you purchase.
We recommend the Magic Chef air fryer oven which comes with a recipe book and air frying racks. You can purchase a rotisserie, basket, and skewer for a minimal additional cost.
Traditional Air Fryer vs Air Fryer Oven
I own both an Air Fryer and now an Air Fryer oven. Both work equally well to get foods crispy and delicious.
The biggest benefit to an air fryer oven is that it has racks so food cooks more evenly and more like a traditional oven. Most air fryers have a basket and foods like fries need to be shaken about every 5 minutes to ensure even browning.
Magic Chef® 10.5 Quart Air Fryer by NewAir
I was given this Magic Chef 10.5 Quart Air Fryer Oven to review, and wow is it amazing!
I’ve been air fryer cooking for several years now and am amazed at how crispy and delicious it makes foods. I’ve been experimenting more and more with making foods beyond fries and chicken tenders.
Roasted vegetables and even meats come out so delicious when cooked in the air fryer and in a fraction of the time of oven cooking.
The Magic Chef Air Fryer comes with 3 racks (which are dishwasher safe, another win!) but I also ordered the rotisserie and basket as additional options. When they arrive I’ll update and let you know how I like using them.
The Magic Chef Air Fryer oven also works as a dehydrator. We haven’t used that feature yet but I can’t wait to make some extra-healthy dried fruit snacks for my kids.

Air Fryers for Weight Loss and Weight Watchers/WW
Do Weight Watchers members need an air fryer? Are air fryers good for weight loss?
Yes! Since cooking with an air fryer means using less oil, you can make healthy versions of the food you love and keep calories low or stay within your MyWW points.
Calories from oil can add up quickly, but by cooking your meals in the air fryer oven instead of a deep fryer you are saving yourself all those calories and eating healthier at the same time.
I definitely recommend the investment of an air fryer for my fellow WW members and people who have a focus on weight loss and healthy eating. Click here for more air fryer Weight Watchers recipes.
FAQ about Air Fryer Ovens
Here are helpful answers to commonly asked questions about air fryers and air fryer cooking.
Which is better, air fryer or air fryer oven?
This depends on what your family needs and the space you have available in your kitchen. We love that the Air Fryer Oven can do so much more. It’s bigger, holds 3 racks of food at once and requires less frequent turning of food. It has rotisserie rack and skewer racks as options as well. Both kitchen devices will cook your food to a crispy perfection.
Which is the best air fryer oven?
We highly recommend and love our Magic Chef Air Fryer Oven. Food cooks well and it’s just the right size to do it all for our family.
Do air fryer ovens work?
Yes, Air Fryer Ovens work and I’m in love with ours. Frozen french fries are amazing in an air fryer. Fresh vegetables turn out crisp and delicious and meats are crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. There is no turning back after you’ve cooked with an air fryer oven.

Just wanted to let you know that under the is the – air fryer safe? heading the phrase – “Make sure chicken know that the racks and baskets will be hot and supervise accordingly.” Probably was supposed to be the word children 🙂 I doubt my chickens would enter the house. unless my daughter tried to sneak them in.
Sara says
LOL, thanks, Sarah. We will get that corrected.
