A high-protein, low-calorie breakfast has about 20 to 30 grams of protein for 450 calories or less. Protein keeps you full longer than the same calories from cereal, muffins, or a sweet coffee drink, so you’re not digging through the pantry at 10 a.m. The 15 breakfasts below all come from The Holy Mess kitchen, with protein and calories pulled straight from each recipe card.
Eight of them hit 20 grams of protein or more as written. The other seven land between 15 and 19 grams, and each one comes with one easy add-on that pushes it past 20. One of them gives you 36 grams of protein for under 230 calories.

What Counts as a High-Protein, Low-Calorie Breakfast?

Protein isn’t the only thing that’s important on your breakfast plate. A breakfast that keeps you full also has some carbs and a little fat. Eggs with toast and fruit, Greek yogurt with berries, or pancakes made with cottage cheese all cover the bases.
