Weight Watchers Plan Continues
Weight Watchers is not introducing a new plan at the start of 2024.
The current plan (that was started in November of 2022) will remain in effect.
The program is expected to change to a new plan in November, 2024.
Weight Watchers Company Changes in 2024
While the program that members use to track points has not changed in 2024, the company continues to go through dramatic changes, including:
- Oprah announced she is leaving Weight Watchers.
- WW ends its food product line.
- Weight Watchers app goes through major changes.
- WW Clinic (Sequence) continues to offer GLP-1 medications.
- Weight Watchers closes many in-person meetings and focuses on online options.
Current Weight Watchers Plan – Introduced November, 2022
The current Weight Watchers plan is the one that was introduced in November of 2022 and continues to remain the way to count points.
In an unprecedented move, Weight Watchers launched a new program for members on November 14, 2022 which was much earlier than expected.
WW App Changes for October, 2023
The WW will NOT be changing this Fall, but the app has received an upgrade.
Click here for a tutorial on what’s new with the WW app and where to find the information you need, and click here for how to earn and find your blue dot.
The new app has more ways to view your progress and trends, a separate helpful section with eating at home and eating out, and more.
Members Can Opt Into New WW Plan Now
I attended a Weight Watchers virtual meeting on November 13th. Here is the information that was shared.
How to Opt into the New WW Plan
- Current WW members have the option to opt into the new plan in their WW app on November 14, 2022 at 9:00 AM EST.
- If you don’t want to opt into the new plan yet, you can continue with Personal Points for 4 weeks. However, on December 12th, all members will be switched to the new plan.
- If you don’t see the option in your app to enroll in the new plan, update your app in the app store. If that doesn’t work, use the WW chat feature or call the WW 1-800 number for assistance. Every member who wants to do so, will be able to enroll in the new plan.
- Anyone who joins Weight Watchers as a new member will be enrolled in the new plan.
What is the new Weight Watchers Plan?
- The new Weight Watchers Plan for 2022 and 2023 is a more simple and streamlined plan that makes weight loss easier.
- The new plan has the same list of zero point foods for all members, with the exception of diabetics. Click here for a complete list of all 200+ zero point foods.
- This plan promotes community since everyone has the same zero point foods and recipes will have the same amount of points.
- The name of the new plan is “Weight Watchers Plan”, simple and streamlined.
- 80% of members will see their daily point allowance increase with the new plan. (The more zero point foods you have currently that are no longer zero points, the more you will see your points increase.)
- The new plan has approximately 200 zero point foods. (Click here for a free printable list.)
Is WW Offering a New Plan in 2022?
Yes! Weight Watchers is offering members a new plan in November of 2022 simply called the Weight Watchers Plan.
This is unexpected and has not been done before in WW recent history. Typically WW creates a new plan every 2 years, with the middle year having minor program adjustments.
Now, on November 14, 2022 WW is ending the Personal Points plan and offering a newly created plan.
This is huge news. As someone who has been using the WW system for almost 30 years, I have not seen Weight Watchers offer a new plan so quickly.
This tells us that the current Personal Points plan is not working for many members for weight loss. While we don’t know exactly what to expect with the new system, overall I’m excited for the change. Good for WW for listening to your members and meeting their needs.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned from my 100+ pound weight loss, it’s that while it’s good to try new things, when it’s not working I need to be willing to go back to the basics. It appears that’s what WW is doing with this new, more streamlined plan.
In today’s modern world, change happens fast and all of us need to be ready to pivot and adapt.
When Was the New WW Plan Be Released?
The new WW plan was released on November 14, 2022. New members will be enrolled in the new plan. Current members will have the option to start the new plan or to choose to stay with the current Personal Points plan for 4 more weeks. Then all members will be enrolled in the new plan on December 12, 2022.
What are the Zero Point Foods for the new WW Plan?
All members (except for those on the diabetic plan) will have the same zero point foods list, which will include:
- non-starchy vegetables
- fruit
- lean poultry
- fish
- tofu
- non-fat, plain Greek yogurt
- non-fat cottage cheese
- eggs
- beans
- lentils
- peas
- corn
- popcorn (plain, air-popped)
Click here for a complete list of all 200 zero point foods.
For diabetic members, the zero point foods will be the same as above except fruit, peas, corn, and popcorn have points. Click here for a complete list of the diabetic zero point foods.

What Will the New Weight Watchers Plan Be Like?
Here are the details about the new plan, take from a WW virtual meeting on November 13, 2022:
- The new plan will be more simple and streamlined.
- Everyone will be on the same plan, except for diabetics.
- Everyone will have the same zero point foods, with the exception of diabetic members who will still have a unique plan for them.
- Recipes will have a set number of points for all members.
- Zero point foods (for non-diabetics) will include non-starchy vegetables, fruits, lean poultry and fish, tofu, non-fat, plain Greek yogurt, non-fat cottage cheese, eggs, beans, lentils, peas, corn, and popcorn (plain, air-popped).
- The list will be about 200 zero point foods.
- Daily points ranges will vary according to sex, age, height and current weight.
- Foods such as potatoes, oatmeal, and brown rice will NOT be zero point foods on the new plan. Members can still eat these foods (remember, no food is off limits in WW) but they will have points.
- Members will continue to receive a daily points allotment and a weekly points allowance.
- Members will NOT earn points for eating vegetables or drinking water.
- Members will still be able to earn additional points for physical activity, called Fit Points.
- This plan is said to be similar to the previous Blue WW plan and Freestyle, although it is it not the same.
- One of the differences with the new plan is that healthy fats, which still having points, are lower in points than on previous plans. Avocado and almonds are now lower in points, for example.
- The algorithm for calculating a food’s point value will stay the same.
What is the Name of the New WW Plan?
The name of the new plan is simply “Weight Watchers Plan” or “WW Plan”. Simple.
There is a new name called “Core” plan but that is NOT the food plan. Core is the new name for the online-only version of the digital program.
The company will continue to use both WW and Weight Watchers names going into the future.
What’s Changing and What’s the Same with the new WW Plan?
Here are more details about the new WW program.
- Members still receive additional points (fit points) for physical activity.
- The same algorithm is used to calculate the points of specific foods as well as a member’s individual points allowance for the day and week.
- Members will no longer take a quiz when they join.
- The new plan has about 200 zero point foods for all members.
- Diabetics will count points for fruit, corn, and popcorn, but beans will continue to be a zero point food.
- Members can choose the diabetic plan in their personal settings on the app. This status can be changed at any time during membership.
- All recipes and meals that members have saved in the app will automatically convert to the new points system.
- Oatmeal, potatoes, brown rice, and quinoa will not be zero point foods, but they will be low in points.
- The blue dots system will remain the same.
- The bar code scanner will remain the same except that it will reflect points for the new plan.
- The Wellness Wins program will stay closed with no current plans for it to reopen.
- People who are Lifetime or Maintenance will continue as they have before, except that their base daily points might adjust for the new plan, the same way they would for a regular member. People on maintenance will continue to have the option to adjust their daily points in the settings.
- Roll over points of up to 4 per day will continue.
- The app will be simplified, due to member requests who said the app was too complex.
- The app will continue to have a water tracker, but tracking water does not give points.
- Information about the new WW plan is available to both members and non-members on the WW website.
What if My WW App Did Not Update for the New Plan?
If you are a Weight Watchers member and your app does not update and give you the option to choose the new plan, take these steps:
- Go to your app store and update the WW app to the latest update.
- Contact WW 24/7 chat via the app and request assistance.
- Call WW at 1-(800)-651-6000 to request assistance.
When Will WW Canada, UK, Australia, and New Zealand Get the New Weight Watchers Plan?
I have been told by other WW members that the program will roll out in Canada, EU, Australia, and New Zealand at the end of November or beginning of December, 2022. However, I have not confirmed this. Please let me know if you have additional information and I will write an update here.
New WW Plan: Real or Rumor?
It is true that Weight Watchers is offering a new plan? Yes, it’s official that WW has started a new plan November 14th of 2022. I attended a virtual WW workshop on November 13 and the new plan was announced by W W coaches.
For several months now, There have been hints that WW was going to start a new plan sooner than is typical. A select number of people who were new members to WW were given the option to enroll in a test program. WW has also discounted their cookbooks to be 50% off, something they typically do only when a new plan is about to be announced.
Weight Watchers coaches and employees knew this new plan was coming for a few weeks in advance.
Will the WW Personal Points Program End?
Yes, the current Personal Points plan will end in December 12, 2022.
Current WW members will have the option of starting the new plan or staying with Personal Points for four weeks. Then on December 12, all members will be switched to the new plan.
New members will automatically be enrolled in the new plan, and all members will be using the new plan by the end of 2022.
Why is Weight Watchers Ending Personal Points?
WW, a top-rated diet plan, has not officially stated why the new Personalized Points plan is ending. I can tell you that as someone who writes about Weight Watchers on this website, I have received a flood of emails from people who are not losing weight with the current plan.
Many have left WW and gone to tracking calories with My Fitness Pal, using a knock-off WW app like Healthi, or simply following an older WW plan on their own.
As someone who has lost 100+ pounds with WW and is a WW Lifetime member, I am a WW fan girl. I love the WW system and counting points works really well for me.
But to be honest even I have had complaints with the Personal Points plan, especially counting extra points for vegetables.
Many WW members have shared their frustration with the Personal Points plan with me, and a desire to go back to the previous Green, Blue, and Purple plans, but then again we as Weight Watchers members have a history of always thinking the previous plan was the better one.
There is no way to follow previous plans while using the current WW system, but if you want to try to follow it on your own, click here for Blue plan information, Green plan information, and Purple plan information along with free printables.
What’s next for the new WW plan? Be sure to join my email list and I’ll keep you informed of new changes as soon as they are announced.

WW Personal Points Plan – Information From WW Survey
Instagram Pandemic Points also shares this information taken from a WW survey:
Introducing WW’s most cutting edge, comprehensive and personalized weight loss program ever.
Cutting edge because it takes the entire nutrition label into account. Calories, protein, fiber, saturated fat, unsaturated (healthy) fats and added sugars are all included in this new points formula. No other system seamlessly reduces all this complexity into one simple number.
Comprehensive because it isn’t just a food system. It’s an entire ecosystem that takes the whole you into account – incorporating your activity levels and water and vegetable intake, allowing you to grow your points budget and earn points for all the healthy things you do. It’s one complete system that takes in all into account.
Personalized because, for the first time ever, with WW’s guidance you determine your own individual plan, based on the foods you like and eat most often. These foods have zero points, and your plan is unique to you. With thousands of possible combinations, virtually no two plans are alike!”

Weight Watchers Program Review
How does Weight Watchers work for weight loss? WW is a reduced calorie, lower fat program that guides members to a healthy weight. The plan gives each member a daily points allowance that represents the food options for the day. In addition, every member has zero point foods that can be eaten to satisfaction plus a flexible weekly points budget.
Which WW plan is best for vegetarians? While all WW plans can be used for vegetarians and vegans, we recommend the Purple plan for vegetarians.

Thank you so much for telling us about the 2024/2025 changes! You always seem to know about WW changes, so I visited your site to see if that was true this time too!
My sister went to a meeting this morning and they said there would be updates announced next week. She’s lifetime and only goes once a month. So she wanted to know if I were going next week, so I could find out the updates!
I wonder how many of those new zero point foods are also on the diabetic plan.
Minnie Strasters says
Thanks, I have been searching for details about this topic for ages and yours is the best I have found so far.
Lisa says
Honestly…..I loved the points plus of 2012! That’s what I use whenever I need to diet and it never fails!
Lisa
Pam says
I miss the Purple Plan. I was able to lose weight easily, eat out, etc. without too much difficulty. The Personal Points (2022) plan did not connect for me at all. I gained weight on that program. I am trying with the adjusted plan that started in November, but it still seems to be hit or miss. I feel more deprivation on this plan. The Purple Plan was so darn easy for me. It was nice when we could all pick the approach that worked for each of us (Green, Blue, Purple) yet still share recipes across all of the plans. Not sure what to do…. considering other options.
Sara says
You can still use Purple! If that worked for you, keep doing what worked at that time. You might check out the app Healthie (formerly itrackbites) which has their knock-off versions of the older WW plans.
Alba Borges says
This new plan is horrible, I really really hate it!
Everybody that I know that was using it just cancelled it, people are not the same, why put everybody in the same plan? why don;t we have at least the option to decide if we want to move to new plan or not?
It is such a shame as the previous plan was so good, and didn’t feel like a chore, looking for another program similar to what WW was last year, does anyone know?
Stacey says
I agree with you completely!! I lost 70 lbs. on Personal Points and it was the best WW plan I’ve been on. I was eating so many more vegetables and trying to drink more water. And I agree with you that it didn’t seem like a diet. I think I’m moving to MyFitnessPal.
tTina says
I liked the old plan. I want potatoes to be free from points. I did not abuse the starchy food and corn is our only free starch. I may keep the old plan in place for me.
Rachel says
Personally, I hate the new plan and prefer the personal points method. With personal points some of my favorite foods were free, like oatmeal an avocados. Now, all of those cost me. With the new update popcorn and corn are free. To be honest, those aren’t the healthiest grains and I’m not a fan of plain popcorn. I work out every day and also lift weights so I really need healthy carbs and fats. The old program really worked for me. If I’m cutting out most fats then why do I have to track avocados? Fats are essential and healthy fats are important. I lost weight just fine with the personal points program. Yes we have extra points now but you have to have that when everything but lean meats, fruits, and veggies cost points now. I am going to continue to keep avocado as free as well oatmeal.
VV Valentine says
I am totally with you on this. I MUCH prefer the points plan. Earning points for eating vegetables made me eat MORE vegetables. Being able to eat whole grain pasta was extremely satisfying. I’m sorry corn over whole grain pasta? Come on. My 1 point breakfast burrito is now 7 points because of my teeny tiny Trader Joe’s avocado? I wish they’d at least given people the OPTION to stay with the points plan, which I will be sticking to regardless of the changes. I get that the new plan is more equitable and community oriented, and that’s great, but everybody is different. What works for one doesn’t always work for all.
Janet says
HATE the new plan – I lost over 30 lbs on the 2022 plan – it was perfect! I hate that we had to go to the 2023 plan and should have been able to choose either – I think being forced into this new one is unfair. I enjoyed getting points for water, vegetables, etc. Gave me a LOT of satisfaction just seeing that!
Karen says
I have been losing weight better than on any of the prior WW plans. I hate that avocados and potatoes are no longer zero points for me. I also don’t like not being able to add points back in for Non-starchy Vegetables. It is going to be much harder to keep within my points now.
Rachel says
I agree 100%!
Tanweer says
SARA ! Amazing blog & fantastic program you have planned. I really appreciate your efforts. Indeed I will be joining you. Meanwhile I have also got something which has helped me a lot in loosing my weight & I firmly believe that it can be ver useful for anyone, struggling to shed away some pounds bit.ly/3X1SDd3.
Douglas DeMarche says
Lifetime member and also suffer hypothyroidism and hashi motors. Anybody who is happy about the upcoming changes is not having success in the program and I would hazard to say probably will not with the new one either. This is the best plan they have ever had. Down -37 pounds since 6/6/2022. I hope WW loses money. This is not about patrons it’s about making it easier for employees and team leaders. If it was about patrons they would not force those of us that it works for to change. Give them the choice. Lifetime member…last weigh in will be 12/10. Time to move on from WW. Searching now for a comparable app. If someone creates it you have my business.
Rachel says
Thank you! I totally agree
Isobel Horton says
Totally agree. I’m now looking for an alternative programme. I’d lost so much weight and was loving the veggies/salad, esp avocados. Don’t understand why we can’t stay on the old programme if preferred. $42.50 too much to pay for inferior plan.
Sarah says
I’m so glad to hear of this! I quit WW some time ago because I HATED the personal points plan! HATED IT!! May be time to come back…thank you for all the info!! God bless & congrats on your amazing weight loss journey! You are an inspiration to many!

I just had to say how excited I am for weight watchers realizing that the Personal Points program was absolutely a train wreck! Thankful that they discovered it and are going back to basics and to what works. I was on weight watchers for a solid year prior to the Personal Points program rolling out and I was on the blue plan. I lost 50 pounds on that plan and since the personal points program began I stopped losing weight, plateaued and even gained a couple pounds. When droves of people left the program last year, it clearly was a wake up call. 🙂

Sara,
I just want to say Thank You for all your helpful advice, hints and recipes! I have done Weight Watchers off-and-on over many years, losing and gaining many pounds. I am familier with the idea of points, but the program (and the app) were a quite a bit different. You have helped immensely. I almost feel like I know you. I have lost a total of 55 pounds so far (27 pounds on my own and 28 additional pounds since August). I have a lot still to go, but I know I will make it.
Sara says
Way to go and thanks so much for reading along. I’m glad you are here with me.
Linda says
I am looking forward to a change. The current program allowed me to manipulate the quiz to make the plan work for me. hence it didn’t work at all and I gained weight. I believe in weight watchers, and so thankful they are going back to the name weight watchers. That WW not to my liking. Glad they listened so many members were leaving due to this personal points program. I need to follow a program that is written and easy.

I am Excited i didnt like the last 2 plans at all.
Terri says
I lost 80 lbs on the old green plan, I had a hard time maintaining, and gained back 6 lbs with the PP plan, I was able to stop the gain, by tricking the plan by manipulating the quiz to get back close to the green plan. This new plan is not good news to me. I hope I can find a way to change it to not give me all of the free foods such as chicken. ,popcorn, fish, etc. I wat those most days, and you are taking away my ability to mix and match my foods. What do you have against the green plan???? It looks like ill have to code name my food to get this right for me.
Lorainne says
I WAS lifetime member easily at goal until my IBS-C got so out of control and even with medication I still need to eat 30 grams of fiber a day. It is impossible to do that in vegetables and fruits because, for example, a cup of broccoli has only 2.4 grams of fiber and a cup of cauliflower has 2.1 grams of fiber. The best is raspberries with 8 grams of fiber a cup and beans with 15 grams of fiber. That sounds like a lot but it’s much easier to eat a 17 gram fiber bar but that leaves me hungry shortly after and I have a lot of fiber food that has artifically added fiber but has higher points. I really struggle to keep my body going and still eat low enough points. I can’t eat the foods most people do with 3-5 grams of fiber in a portion because then I need to eat too high a quantity and proteins, with the exception of beans, are without fiber. Because of my stomach issues I have trouble digesting proteins like chicken breast, meat and I am not a big fish eater. It is all so scary because I’ve gained back 25 of the 130 lbs I lost 30 years ago. I gained weight on Blue and was very happy to see it go. I am currently 70 years old and struggle in general with weight loss. I do exercise but can’t do an hour or pounding exercises because of arthritis and fibromyalgia. I think I’m a mess and fear this new WW plan with be another problem for me.
SheGoesInCircles says
I believe in Weight Watchers. I’ve probably tried every version over the last 15 years. During the few times I’ve been a desperate, serious and disciplined follower, I have been very successful. This last change to Personal Points was hardest. I took that doggone quiz 398 times to get it where I needed it to be. Haha. (Somebody please tell me you did, too.) I had some health problems earlier in 2021, and I just really didn’t have the energy and focus to make necessary adjustments, so I am “up” right now. I’m hoping whatever this new ordeal is next week will be more simple.
Kim says
HA Yes! I too took that quiz so many times! I swear your story is just like mine. I’ve always had success. I’ve been maintaining or losing what I needed to for years. I had some health issues and my weight got TOO low, now I am feeling better and able to eat again and have gained back and then some. This new plan has me either feeling like I am starving in order to lose a couple of pounds or I am gaining. I’ve yet to lose and maintain a 3lb drop.
Tammi says
I’m so excited about this! I’ve been working on getting back to counting points to lose a few pounds and I found it hard to get excited to get back because I’m not extremely happy with the current plan. The low number of points gets discouraging and seems unattainable at times. I feel defeated when I eat 4 points and sometimes more at breakfast and I seeing what is left in points for the remainder of the day is a bit disheartening.
Robin says
I am so happy to hear about the changes to the program. I am a lifetime member who was well under goal weight during the pandemic. Since this new program, I gained 10 pounds! Nov 14th can’t come soon enough!
Claire says
I had success on BLUE! Gave new program a shot and it did not click. I have had major set backs with new plan..Am anxious to get back to blue- officially and get the success back I had in 2020 – 40 lbs and lifetime!
Deborah says
I started WW late August 2022 (personal points plan). This is my 3rd time at WW and by far the easiest plan to follow. I don’t feel deprived, I eat out once or twice a week with ease, and I’ve lost nearly 25 pounds. At first I would overeat until I figured out portion control and 0-point foods didn’t mean free-for-all. Participating in “Connect” and reading WW helpful articles in “Discover” has taught me how to work the program and change my mindset to my benefit. Although I am disappointed and apprehensive about changing to a new program, I will most likely give it a try.
Barbara Sabel says
I have lost 42 ponds since April 27th. Love the flexibility of the PP plan. Very scared and worried about new plan. Idrppoed out when Oprah came in and WW dramatically changed the program. I feel the PP PLAN acknowledged the everyone eats different foods and every body is different. PP was not a diet but a great lifestyle. Very disappointing that you are making it go away. I will have to see if new plan works for me. I have my doubts.
Eric says
I will miss Personal Points. It was by far the EASIEST plan for me to follow. I easily maintained and lost on PP. I’ve been doing WW for several years, so I know that all of the plans work if YOU work the plan. As a vegetarian, I feel like WW is ignoring my needs, yet again. I’m looking at you “Freestyle” aka “Blue”.
By instituting a plan that requires me to use points for healthy plant based choices like whole wheat pasta, baked potatoes, and brown rice WW is diminishing my choices. Feeling deprived is counter-productive is to either weight-loss or maintenance. PP really felt like a lifestyle, not a diet.
By allowing me to earn points for eating non-starchy vegetables I was able to have some reasonable splurges, like full-fat cheese every now and then. Being able to occasionally have those indulgences is what made PP the easiest, most livable plan WW ever produced.
Having said all of the above; I will go into the new plan with an open mind and open heart.
I don’t feel that WW really did the necessary education with it’s members to make PP successful. It was a HUGE change to how previous plans worked, and really required you to be honest with yourself and thoughtful about food choices and desires. I think a lot of members just saw it as “free” avocados or pasta when they filled out the PP engine questionnaire. Also, because it was such a big change I feel like many members just didn’t give it a chance. I can’t even begin to count how many members would ask in workshops “How do I fill this thing out to get back to Purple, Green, Blue?”.
Eric says
Edited to add: Full disclosure, I lost 135# on “Freestyle aka “Blue”. However, I always felt deprived and was almost always hungry. Nearly half of the zero point foods were not part of my diet. “Freestyle” did not give me enough points as a vegetarian to “pay” for things like brown rice or whole wheat pasta. So I felt as if I just had to “do without” on “Freestyle”.
Carol says
This plan has worked so well for me. I’m not happy about the change. In fact I’m very nervous. All the way ive been planing food and eating had worked so well with.
😱😔😬💩
Nancy Rabalais says
Glad everyone will be on same plan. I just wish they would stick to same plan. As I get older I really hate change and having to learn new things.
Traci says
I have a mixed emotions. I am happy for those who struggled with the personal points but am sad for those who were seeing success. For me personally, I lost 25 lbs this year. With the blue plan I struggled with emotional eating and binge eating. My daily points are low and I went over my points easily. Once I went over my points it was easy to just eat whatever I wanted and “start over” the next day. This went on days even weeks at at time causing weight gain. If I stayed within my points I wasn’t eating enough food to sustain me so after a day or two I would binge eat. With personal points most of the foods I ate were zero so I used points for extras like sauces, dressing, cheese, my daily protein shake. I could easily stay within my points or meet it each day which stopped the emotional eating and since I was fueling my body properly I also no longer binge ate. This new plan has me really nervous. I think WW should give the members a choice of which plan they want to use. We are all different so not just one plan will work for everyone.
Mariann says
I did really well on blue plan, then gained back the weight on pp plan, I am using loose it app and lost 4 lbs since Sunday! I have not cancelled ww yet, look forward to a similar blue plan or I will cancel my membership for good! Thanks for listening to us!!
Laura says
I didn’t see mentioned in your list of zero foods or point foods whole wheat pasta mentioned. Is there any word about that?
Darlene Toth says
Hated personal points looking forward to the new plan maybe this one will work for me

I was just going to drop WW because I haven’t lost no weight been doing it since September. Maybe with a new plan I can lose some weight only have 23 pounds to lose
Boliver Julia says
any myself as well i’m
Tracey says
I have mixed feelings about the possible changes.
What I like- Points will be more consistent for all. I won’t feel the need to retake the assessment to change my zero point foods so frequently, trying to find the best ‘deal’.
What I don’t like- Potentially losing the ability to earn Points thru water and non-starchy veg. I’d be ok if they capped the veg to one point (like they did with water) but I must admit that being able to earn a point for water (especially) and non-starchy veg really got me getting them in. Hopefully these good habits will continue regardless of potentially losing the Point reward.
I have been having success on this plan. But having been a member for over 20 years (who is on and off the program), I know that I have had success on EVERY plan WW has ever had. When I eat healthier, I lose/maintain. I will always keep an open mind.
Patricia Longfellow says
The Personal Points Plan for me was frustrating and discouraging. I had previously followed the Purple plan and enjoyed the wide variety of zero point foods. The Personal Points plan felt restrictive and I felt deprived (again, I’m only speaking for myself). I got discouraged and allowed myself to gain back 25 pounts. This new plan sounds less restrictive and I’m looking forward to it.
Brenda Meier-Hans says
I also loved my purple plan and was very successful. I hated the new plan and couldn’t get into at all. Hopefully this will help me reboot
Celina says
I lost 50 pounds on blue and loved it. During maintenance they launched personal points. I gave it a few months but truly hated it. I welcome this change!
Robin says
AT first hearing, definitely a 1… panic. I’m up to 3 now. I’m thinking the new plan (as far as we know) sounds good. I knew I couldn’t get away with eating endless potatoes forever!!
Dawn says
Girl me too! I need boundaries!
Lyn says
Interesting. I’ve been on the current plan since January and I’ve lost almost 60 pounds. If the changes you mentioned hold, it looks like the way I eat now. Health eating is healthy eating regardless of the plan and ice cream will never be a diet food! I’m curious to see if the number of points I get will change. I’m at a plateau now so I could use a change!

I Lost 50 on the blue plan but have stalled with the PP plan. And they just took away the only workshop I could attend. Trying to remain hopeful but WW. needs to get these workshops open and keep them open

I have tried WW on and off for the past 30 years. The different programs through the years. I was talked into trying it again several months ago and their new plan blew my socks off. The weight is falling off of me, but more importantly, the plan is the EASIEST diet I’ve ever been on. I do not struggle. And that is the battle with all diet plans. Most normal diet plans work if you just follow them. WW is a breeze, now. I don’t know if people are unaware of the dark days of old dieting. This is a cake-walk. And I’ve lost 45 pounds since the end of February. And that includes a Saturday of eating whatever I feel like eating. They absolutely can’t change it. That would be insanely foolish. My zero points are chicken, fish, potatoes (both white & sweet), and whole grains. I do NOT want to go back to the dark days of lettuce & mustard being the only zeros. Leave me my proteins and starches. I’ll happily pay for my pork, beef, and peas.
Andrea says
Hye! I really had a quite difficult time with Personal Points.
Looking forward to the new (old?) System!
I’ll keep trying doing my best! I CAN DO HARD THINGS!
Sandy Krupp says
I’m so mad they are ending PP. I have lost 57 lbs since 5/7/22 . I’ve tried WW twice before and lost very little! 😡 if I stop losing on the new plan I will be so upset. Still have 100 to go don’t mess that up for me.
Andrea says
Can’t you stay with your PP- routines instead? Sure, you can’t use the new points online nor your old ones, but you developed a new routine by now loosing so many pounds! Haven’t you? Good luck on your way!
Stacy Fuller says
I can do hard things
Carol Hall says
Really struggling with the current plan and have gained weight back, and I am a lifetime member. Really liked the Blue plan so will be anxious to try it out and see if it helps. The loss of our meetings was not helpful to me also. Needed the accountability of the meeting and one on one coaching.
Moira R. says
I did not like the Personal Points plan because I was NOT losing weight! It’s too much cooking, measuring and washing dishes to not see results at the scale – plus the cost of membership. I am very excited about the change and plan to come back because I know that I need the accountability! Thanks for the ‘heads up’!
Linda says
I’m so happy that the program is changing. I did so well on the previous Blue plan, and lost 82 lbs. Unfortunately I am not doing well on this program at all. During Covid I felt so isolated and felt even more so with the present plan. It will be great to take this journey together as one large group with food values and recipes being the same for all. As a Canadian, when I would go onto American web sites that had recipes for WW I couldn’t get the convenient points breakdown. This was not a problem with the other plans. I am really looking forward to the changes mentioned in your video. This has really got me motivated
Laurel Larmon says
Absolutely thrilled they are doing away with the Personal Points plan! I lost 50 pounds in 4 months on the old plan but never lost anymore in 6 months on the PP plan so I quit. Can’t wait to get back on track!
Rebecca Krueger says
I have been a WW since 1978. I have seen program changes along the way. It’s basically the same food choices, just how you track the food. I am thankful they change the foods. If I were to go back to the first program, I was on, I would be eating liver, fish, cheese (3 times a week) opening a can of green beans if I became hungry, and activity was never mentioned. So I am looking forward to the changes.
Elizabeth says
I’m excited about “new plan” . I’m one of those that gained on the latest plan and had to assess back to Green. I too believe too many people were gaining and leaving WW.
Denise Claibourn says
Hello,
So I’m not entirely happy with a new plan rolling out; I have tried WW in the past and the plans were a failure but the personal plan is working! As members, I think there should be multiple plans and from the reviews, this one seems to be working! If you’re going back to the Blue plan I’ll be looking to cancel my membership along with several others! Moving forward, I think you need to submit a survey and allow your customers to choose! Good luck 👍🏾
Cyndi says
I’m unhappy because most of those zero pt foods are not foods I eat often other than poultry and eggs. I’ve been a WW for 41 yrs, LT, below goal and I will adapt. The other choice to fall off the wagon isn’t a viable choice. Oh well ….. I’ve seen all the plans and they all work if you work them.
Theresa says
I do not like Personal Points. I lost weight on Blue and Purple and got to goal last November when they changed the plans. I haven’t been at goal since! Looking forward to a change although I am not happy about losing oats and potatoes as 0 point foods. I loved my 0 point foods on Purple. I know I can still have them but don’t like counting points for them. Thanks for sharing.
Sandie says
I struggled to lose weight with the PP plan. I finally started using the MyFitnessPlan app and am now steadily losing weight and eating more food. I will check out the new WW plan but right now I’m inclined to stay with what is working.
Kathleen says
Yay! I’ve been on and off WW since the 1970s, and this was probably the most confusing and disappointing plan for me. I’ve gained weight from all those vegetable and water rewards because I know I am eating far too many calories for my age and activity level. Potatoes were a zero-point food on my plan, so I ate 2 potatoes instead of one. Looking forward to my “restart,” and glad the recipes will change over so I don’t have to redo them.
Chris says
I just left WW last month because I haven’t been sucessful on the Personal points plan. I lost 50 pounds on the previous plan and have maintained it. I still have a lot to lose. I might come back for a different plan.
Lisa says
This actually is disappointing to me. I have been on WW since mid August and I have lost 23lbs. I love the simplicity of the current plan. I am stuck now until February as I signed up for 6mo. Taking away my zero points pasta and oatmeal angers me. I don’t have much more to lose so I will definitely switch to MFP once my 6mo is up. If the issue is others complaining the program isn’t working for them then I would bet those others need to start being honest with themselves. They are either not tracking honestly or they are OVER eating their zero point carbs. It isn’t a free for all just because “whole grain pasta” is your zero point carb of choice. Use common sense people. I will reach my goal in the next month or so and will track for maintenance until February. I definitely won’t be continuing beyond that though and I am betting the same folks complaining it isn’t working will still be complaining.
Janice says
I agree with you. People see zero pts and they interpret that as all you can eat. I’ve been a member since 2006 on the Core plan, it worked great. It was basic healthy food no processed food. Those all had points and grains and bread all had pts. I think it has to do with tracking everyday, attending workshops activity. And definitely serving sizes. You can gain weight eating healthy if your eating to many servings.
Marlene says
It could be that you’ll have more points on the new plan. I liked the old plan and I like the new plan. You might find that the new plan is good too.
Don’t forget that once you receive lifetime status the program is free.
Kate says
Personal Points has been my favorite of all the WW plans. That said, I understand why some people didn’t. You really have to be honest when taking the assessment and then follow the plan, as it was intended. People ate unlimited zero point foods, counted tea and coffee for an extra point and if they didn’t track faithfully and assess their progress against the data, they failed. Some people want an easy fix and zero accountability to rework their PP if needed. Add to that those people who are technically challenged it was no surprise that so many weren’t happy. I had great success with the Green plan and the PP plans, and now on maintenance, I hope the new olan doesn’t derail me. Im also thankful I didn’t waste money on the PP food scale. When that went on sale I knew something was changing.
Christie says
I love Personal Points!! I will switch.. but I LOVE Personal Points 😊 It has been my favorite plan so far.
Vicki says
I am all in-I am a Lifetime Member and I have never really gotten into the Personal Points but have kept my weight off. I was on the Blue program before that, and I loved it. It is easy to follow and easy to keep track of your points. I am so happy that we are going back towards that program.
Terry says
Agree w/ you!
Cindy says
I love personal points plan, as a newbie to WW it couldn’t be easier. Reached my goal in 6 months and have maintained it since June 1. Was staying on WW to track and teach myself to continue to eat well, but not sure I really want to get involved with another plan just for maintenance, so may have to give it up for awhile and try a different app.
Fran says
Best thing ever to hear that PP is going bye bye. My weight loss has stalled and I’ve had no success since PP began.
Looking forward to the new plan.
Julie says
I quit WW when they rolled out the PP plan. I only recently re-joined because my daughter is getting married in a few months and I want to lose more weight. Personally, I’m thrilled about a new plan rollout, especially since I loved being on the blue plan.
Terry says
Blue was great, so happy to be going back to something similar to it.
Linda says
I struggled most of the year trying to get personal points figured out. Now that I finally have, it’s going away. I see the new plan is like blue/freestyle. I liked it at the time but my life has changed a lot since then. When the colors came out, I started with purple, then I switched to green which worked better for me after my husband’s stroke. Before stroke, he would cook for himself if he didn’t want to eat what I made. He can’t do that now. My life is so busy taking care of him, I don’t have time to make separate meals for us. He’s not a fussy eater but there are some WW friendly options I like that he prefers to pass on. Green gave me that flexibility. And I lost weight! I couldn’t lose weight on personal points until just the last few weeks when I finally got it figured out, how to eat and not be so much in the red with weeklies, which was very frustrating to be in the red all the time. Made me feel like I wasn’t doing the program right. But now it’s changing and I’ll give it a try and hope for the best. I’m a bit skeptical though. I like to eat a variety of food so zero point foods are not on the menu everyday, especially with trying to keep hubby happy at meal time too.
Kay says
I lost 75lbs on the purple plan and I was devastated when they changed the program to personal points. This new plan sounds like I will be getting a lot of my zero point foods back and recipes will be easier because everyone will get to count the same amount instead of everyone counting a different amount for the same recipe. I’m excited about the change!!
Theresa says
Me too, I lost 75 lbs on Blue and then Purple. Got to lifetime during the switch last year and haven’t been there since although I have tried. Personal Points does not work as well for me. Some of the other posters say people who aren’t successful aren’t being honest with themselves, but I don’t believe that. I didn’t lose 75 lbs by not being honest with myself. I think the science failed some of us. Seems like those on Purple had the hardest time with the switch.
Beverly says
I joined WW in 2006 and not sure what plan that was that year but that is the plan that I lost the most weight as well as my daughter.
I needed to lose 77 lbs. and within one year I lost 66 lbs. on that plan. To be honest with all these new plans I haven’t found one I really liked, and I’m have a difficult time sticking to this Personal Points plan. I would really like to see the plan to go back to the way it was. That no matter what you eat it had a point with the exception of Vegetables.
Janice says
It was flex or core in 2006. I loved core. I started 3/2006.
Kathy says
I felt that if the new PP plan didn’t work for me, I had the choice of returning to the purple plan that worked for me.
I did succeed in reaching my goal weight in April 2022.
Don’t give up. Whatever that was working for you in the past, use it.
Pat says
This is disappointing that they’re changing the program already. So many gals in my meetings have said the current program is the absolute best ever BECAUSE it is so personalized to each individuals likes/preferences, etc. I also feel bad for the leaders/coaches that have been singing the praises about the current program, and will now have to do an about face and have to hawk the newest B.S. that in the end, will make WW a ton of new $$ on new cookbooks, products, etc., etc. And BTW – I thought Mindy Grossman left a year ago – what’s up with that?
Filomena says
Me too . I’m in tears right now . I’ve never lost 30 pounds so quickly as i have with the points plan . I’m devastated . I have 40 more to lose , and I don’t think I will be successful . Those extra points for veggies and water motivates me to stay on the plan .
Sue Easton says
It makes me wonder how much thought is put into WW plans if they are changed so often. Inconsistencies is not good when trying to lose weight. Something has really changed with WW. I hope they still believe in themselves because it’s getting more difficult to do that as a WW client.
Starting to get hard to stay with the whole program. About the time you get used to a plan it changes. Disappointing!
Pat says
I have been lifetime at or below goal for 15 years. I rarely eat potatoes, corn or popcorn, but I do eat oatmeal daily. Having to start counting points now for oatmeal does not make me very happy.

I have struggled mightily on the Personal Points plan and am more than relieved that WW has listened! I got down to goal and below on Blue and maintained until the Personal Points plan came along and I haven’t been able to figure out what I’m doing wrong! I’m still below goal, but have gained 11 pounds trying to figure out what I’m doing wrong. I’ve tried the Wendie Plan, varying the PP from day to day, to no avail, unable to maintain a loss from week to week. I’m relieved that there is a change coming, and SOON. I have to give WW credit for listening to the outcry I have seen on Connect.
Mary says
Anynore news/rumors? I could see the free foid categiries expanding. Would really like to see first portion free or minimal points but secind servings would have points.
Sara says
Hi Mary, That’s an interesting idea about additional portions have points. I haven’t read or heard anything more since I wrote the article, but when I do I will be sure to update and share the information.
Nancy ROSE says
I really don’t see how they can improve the program or make it any easier. By following the instructions, I reached my goal after 7 months and have maintained for a year now. I learned how to prepare and to eat the right foods and how important physical activity and drinking water is for a healthy lifestyle. The WW app makes it so easy to keep track of everything. The support from the people on Connect is an awesome bonus. Looking forward to see how they make it better. Thanks WW!

I agree 100%. It’s the friendliest diet I’ve ever tried. And it works.

Just so they don’t raise the price. It is already to costly
Alot can’t do it since the covid thing. The monthly amount should be reduced since not alot of workshops opened.
Terry says
I agree totally. Didn’t mind the cost when there were actual meetings but right now there seems to be no hope for meetings in my area on the future,
Sara says
How frustrating! Let’s hope some workshops open in your area.
